The Landhaus Post is located on the B 252, an important north-south connection from eastern North Rhine-Westphalia to the city of Marburg in central Hesse. Trucks are prohibited from driving on large sections of the road at night.

Landhaus Post is located in the Waldeck-Frankenberg holiday region with the three lakes Edersee, Diemelsee and Twistesee, which can be reached via relatively short distances from Landhaus Post.

The lakes offer a variety of leisure activities such as lidos (Twistesee, Edersee, Dimelsee), water skiing (at the Twistesee), boat rentals (Twistesee, Edersee, Diemelsee) and more for day trips.

The Waldeckerland offers a variety of sights and leisure activities such as castles, ruins, monasteries and churches that can be visited, museums with different themes, wildlife parks, visitor mines, corn maze, summer toboggan run (Edersee, Willingen), national park, treetop path, the Arobella leisure pool with sports and leisure pools, sauna world and massage offers, the swimming pool or open-air pool in Korbach, Twiste also has an open-air pool.

Recurring events also invite visitors on a regular basis, such as the Arolser Viehmarkt, the largest folk festival in northern Hesse, the annual Old Town Culture Festival in Korbach, which grew out of the Hessentag 1998 and attracts visitors with a variety of live music, arts and crafts, the Baroque Festival in Bad Arolsen, the open-air stage events in Twiste and Korbach, the medieval market in Korbach, the Willingen Bike Festival with competitions and everything to do with bikes, and much more.

The Bike Week Willingen as a big event for Harley enthusiasts takes place regularly in about 35 minutes drive. The Bike Week Willingen can be easily reached from the Landhaus Post via the main road or winding district roads.

The surrounding forests invite you to go hiking or cycling. The municipality of Twistetal offers a free downloadable map with cycling and hiking trails on its website.

The reservoirs in the area and the nearby Upland offer winding routes for motorcyclists.

The Twistetal railway station is only a few metres away from the Landhaus Post and is connected to the Kassel-Korbach line of the RB4 Kurhessenbahn. This makes it possible to visit the surrounding towns of Korbach, Bad Arolsen, Volkmarsen and Kassel without having to drive yourself, or to return to Landhaus Post from a day trip by bike without having to pedal yourself.
